Ngonguembo — At least 947 women from Ngonguembo municipality, northern Cuanza Norte province, were immunised against tetanus in April, under the vaccination campaign promoted by the local health authorities, aiming to prevent the referred disease in ladies in fertile age.

This was said to Angop on Friday by the municipal supervisor of the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (PAV), José Mário Macongo.

He considered positive the adherence of women in the campaign.

José Macongo said that it was availed about 1.500 dosages of vaccines anti-tetanus to secure the campaign in the region, an activity that was ensured by eight health technicians, four volunteers and two supervisors.

He highlighted the support of the chieftains for the mobilisation of the women to adhere the campaign in two phases.

José Macongo said that this kind of campaigns have already been held in the municipalities of Samba Caju and Lucala.
