Somali ministry of women and human rights said it is setting up plans to eradicate crimes against humanity and the gender‐based violence in the country.

Mohamed Omar, the director of the ministry said most of the Gov't has zero tolerance to the continuation of the crimes against women which most of them take place at the conflict zones.

"Planes to end the gender‐based violence underway. Somali ministry of women and human rights will take any action to deal with the violence against the helpless women," said Mr Omar.

Somalia was ranked among the top five most dangerous countries to be a woman. Human Rights Watch concluded that two decades of civil conflict in the country had created a large population of civilians vulnerable to sexualized violence, in a report titled "Here, Rape is Normal."
