A special attention to rural women problems and promotion of programmes of support for the group stands as one of the main challenges for the ruling party?s women wing (OMA) this year.

This was said Friday in Luanda by OMA Secretary General, Luzian Inglês Van-Dúnem.

The official was speaking during a ceremony of yearend compliments witnessed by members of the organisation's Executive Secretariat, of the National Committee and guests.

According to Luzia Inglês, the celebrations of the 52nd OMA anniversary in March this year will be turned into a true programme of reflection on rural women problems for due approach.

"This programme will be devoted to a true hearing of the problems concerning rural women and promotion of assistance to this walk of the society as stated by the President of the Republic , José Eduardo dos Santos, in his new year message," said the official.

She also announced that in April this year, Angola will host executive and regional meetings within the framework of the International Socialist of Women, of which OMA is the vice chair for southern Africa.

In this regard, she appealed for the mobilisation of all members in the preparation of the event.

On the other hand, the official mentioned as another challenge for the organisation the increase in quality and quantity of its ranks, improvement of statistics and their management from the basis, including political and ideological training of its members.

The promotion of patriotic spirit within the family and retrieval of civic, ethical, cultural and moral values and a special attention to young women is another challenge pointed out by Luzia Inglês.

The publicising of the law on domestic violence and the importance of structured and happy families, through the strengthening of legal counseling centres, is also on the agenda of the organisation for this year.

Another relevant topic on OMA's agenda for this year is the fight against illiteracy, coupled with a special attention to women health and development of innovating projects designed to fight poverty.
