Presidential elections were held in Burundi on 21 July 2015.

Seychellois presidential elections were held between 3 and 5 December 2015.

General elections were held in Burkina Faso on 29 November 2015.

Presidential elections were held in Guinea on 11 October 2015.

Parliamentary elections were held in Ethiopia on 24 May 2015.

Benin heads to the polls to vote in parliamentary elections on April 26, 2015. Over 4.47 million Beninese voters are expected to vote on April 26 to elect the 83 members of parliament.

Togo is holding Presidential Elections on April 25, 2015 after a brief delay due to concerns over the voter list.

Sudanese general elections were held on 13-16 April 2015 in order to elect the President of the National Assembly.

 The people of Lesotho voted in a snap election for the Lower House of Parliament on February 28, 2015, two years ahead of schedule.

Nigerians headed to the polls on March 28th to elect a President and members of the National Assembly. The general election was initially slated for February 14th but was postponed by Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by six weeks to “allow international forces to regain control of areas in the north-east of the country held by the Islamist extremists of Boko Haram.”

The first round of the parliamentary elections in Comoros was held on January 25, 2015, and the second round on February 22, 2015. Polls were initially scheduled for early November, 2014, but were rescheduled twice “without explanation.”

A Presidential by-election took place on January 20, 2015, triggered by the death  of President Michael Sata on October 28, 2014, in London, where he was hospitalized. The article 38 (1) of the Constitution stipulates that “if the office of the President becomes vacant by reason of his death an election to the office of the President shall be held in accordance with the Article 34 within ninety days from the date of the office becoming vacant.” The winner of the election will complete President Sata’s term, which expires in September 2016.
